Oliver Pooley

Photo of Oliver PooleyWelcome! I am a Tutorial Fellow in Philosophy at Oriel College and an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Oxford. My main research interests are in metaphysics and the philosophy of physics. More details are on my research page.

I read Physics and Philosophy at Balliol College, did Part III Maths at St John’s College, Cambridge, and then returned to Oxford to do graduate work in Philosophy. Before taking up my current position, I was a British Academy Postdoctoral Fellow.

If you are interested in applying to study philosophy as an undergraduate at Oriel, you can find more information via my teaching page.

I welcome contact from potential graduate students whose planned PhD topic overlaps with my areas of interest. There is a list of former students and their research topics on my teaching page.
